AgriVenture Hubs Program

Many schools in Zimbabwe need to become more self-sufficient as a way to improve educational outcomes and ensure the well-being of their learners. Agriculture offers a viable solution given Zimbabwe’s agrarian-based economy. Despite rural schools having under-utilized land, around 70% of government schools lack the knowledge and resources to develop it effectively. By addressing these gaps, schools can transform their land into productive agricultural ventures, providing food, generating income, and enhancing financial stability. This self-sufficiency will allow schools to offer better nutrition to students, improve their operating funds, and enhance the livelihoods of their communities.

Program outcomes

Emergination Africa’s Agri Venture Hubs Program transforms secondary schools into self-sustaining agricultural enterprises which are also  agriculture knowledge hubs for students and the surrounding community. By partnering with the Ministry of Primary & Secondary Education of Zimbabwe, financial institutions and agricultural machinery providers, we equip schools with tools, training, and financial support to establish profitable agribusiness ventures. School administrators and the agriculture teachers receive training in agribusiness management, agricultural mechanization, and financial planning, enabling them to run self-sustaining agricultural projects. These agri venture hubs not only provide nutritious meals for students but also generate surplus produce for sale. More so, the school personnel will also receive training on running a service provider model with the machinery that they would have invested in for their hubs. This creates income opportunities for the school and the community significantly impacting the livelihoods of students, educators, and local communities.
